About Your Host:

Unlike many places, La Terraza Guest House B&B is more than merely a place to lay your head down for the night. Staying at our Guest House and visiting our beautiful organic gardens is indeed an interactive and authentic Costa Rica Adventure.

La Terraza specializes in assisting guests interested in relocating to Costa Rica or who would like to live in the country part-time. Using an extensive network of realtors, attorneys, and people in the know, we have helped hundreds of people accomplish their dreams of living overseas.

Charles and Jeanetta welcome and delight in their guest and open many doors to engage in the local culture.  This includes introductions to diverse educational experiences and meet and greets with local Expats who are happy to meet you at breakfasts and share their personal experiences. Charles and Jeanetta are specialists in Expat living. They can soundly advise if you desire to move to Costa Rica permanently or if you enjoy a quick trip to a beautiful foreign country.

Are you planning on visiting for a more extended period? Don’t’ worry. We would love to have you spend all of your time with us, but we firmly believe in a “Boots on the Ground” experience. Using our networks, we can help you customize a plan to see and learn as much as you can in the travel time you have allotted. If you are a Solo traveler and hesitant about traveling alone, don’t worry, La Terraza will be your home away from home. If you need a private driver, trip companions, Spanish teacher, Yoga instructor, or masseuse, our team can make all of those customized arrangements for you right here on the grounds.

She is an international traveler who now resides permanently as a resident in Grecia Costa Rica. Her husband, Charles Sr., was a retired Vietnam Veteran of the US Army. Our team comprises several long-term employees who take great pride in providing superior service and have received many praises concerning their ability to connect the business traveler and general vacationer with their every need while staying at La Terraza.

As the owner of La Terraza, Charles Owens handles all marketing, booking, and business-related tasks. You can expect to communicate with him frequently about your visit. Nestled in the Central Valley’s rolling hills and sugar cane plantations, Grecia is a picturesque town with a mild climate and several worthy attractions. Known as the cleanest city in Latin America, Grecia boasts an immaculate and beautifully landscaped central park that is dotted with huge shade trees. Beyond its charming locals and temperate climate, Grecia is known for unique attractions like the World of Snakes reptile museum and Los Chorros, a pair of pristine waterfalls set in a private reserve just minutes from town. There is also a family-run butterfly garden and, for the history buff, the Casa de Cultura museum has plenty of local folklore and colonial artifacts.

The local Tico community here is very friendly and eagerly welcomes visitors into their homes as well as their hearts. Mostly farmers by profession, the people here are relaxed and laidback. Being an important agricultural hub of the country, sugar cane is grown and harvested in Grecia in massive amounts, as is organic coffee and pineapples.
