Recently some wonderful friends of mine John and Karen from Kitchener Ontario, Canada once again visited La Terraza. They were on their way to their romantic and quaint Bungalow in Escaleras very near to Dominical Costa Rica. Escaleras, a small community that branches off the coastal road, is famed for its sweeping views of the Pacific coastline. It was my first overnight in this scenic jungle village way up in the mountains. Getting there was like entering a secret passageway. Suddenly the secret passageway opened up, and there were people all around, fabulous homes a fantastic restaurant It was outstanding to realize how these people had decided to come to Costa Rica and establish this charming village. I woke up every morning to the sounds of howler monkeys, exotic singing birds and all kinds of critters.

It was tantalizing for the senses to experiences. I lodged in a small bed-and-breakfast where all of the rooms were nice, and the guys that run it were very accommodating. We were invited to lunch for chicken wings at Bar Jolly Roger that offers 19 varieties of delicious wings, in addition to cold beers and excellent margaritas. Look for the smiley-face Jolly Roger sign. At lunch, we were able to meet many fantastic expats who live in the community. Listening to their life experiences was more than interesting it was quite entertaining. If you have been thinking about coming to Costa Rica and haven’t planned a trip yet, you need to hurry up because many good things are happening. Thank you so much Paul and Karen for sharing your Costa Rica adventure with me. I enjoyed the visit tremendously…Pura Vida

Recently some wonderful friends of mine John and Karen from Kitchener Ontario, Canada once again visited La Terraza.
